I'm hunting high and low for a replacement for the BMS for the Bosch PowerPowerpack 300. For some reason nothing at all on ebay, aliexpress etc.... any hints?

I'm afraid the Bosch system is over-integrated/locked up, with Bosch ensuring lack of spare parts. Not quite sure how that squares with the EU reparability directives but there you go.

You could try Jimmy at ebikebatteries (https://ebikebatteries.co.uk/), but he is just scaling down, and probably couldn't have helped anyway.

I'm afraid a new battery is likely to be your only hope. If the old one is still good apart from the BMS you will have some decent quality used cells to sell on, but probably not much more than that.

If I'd known more when I bought our Bosch powered Motus I wouldn't have bought it, for that and related reasons. It's been excellent apart from very poorly designed connections for the battery and the display; but I'm dreading the time it goes seriously wrong or I need a new battery.

jimmy cant do them as the use can bus coms and if you remove power to the bms it bricks it as looses it programming tho this can be done on some batts the only place that can do it is in Germany so postage is not a option.

ebike vision make 3rd party batts but there expensive and again in Germany and when i tried to buy one no postage to uk.

these batts are being made obsolete as the new smart frame batts will not work with any of the older motors so get what you can otherwise you wont have anything batt wise as nothing else will work bms wise.

i did ask bosch when production of these batts will end but they wont tell me anything only that the new smart batts wont work even tho they fit the bikes

2 worrying things on here
Firstly - sham Jimmy is winding down. He has done 2 of my bikes and did a good job - I suppose I will have to find someone else when the Carrera needs recelling again
Secondly - my other bike os also a Motus - again I wouldn;t have bought it but it's a long story and it is a great bike. But worrying that the new batteries are not compatible and there is not guarantee of supply when the current ones wear out
However, I have done nearly 8000 miles on the current battery and, so far, it is doing well and not degrading as fast as my others have.
But that means the time to swap will be even further in the future this making supply more of a possible problem

I suppose I will have to see!

my 400w from 2014 is still working but it has now lost most of its capacity and can only get 6-7 miles out of it but it is 8 years old and use a dongle.

i got a 500w one in 2016 so that has helped keeping it going but that now is also starting to fade so had to get a new one this year for £633.

lets hope they still make them for at least a few more years so i can get another one but after that its 3rd party or the skip.

tho some are making motor adaptors so a bafang m620 can be fitted but depends on frame and it will need to be modded for them to fit.

this is a shimano frame he is working on
