Bosch Gen 2 Bearing replacement

Has anyone done removed the bearings themselves? If you went through a stream crossing and the bottom bracket is submerged, any ideas on how you could check for water penetration?

Personally I'd just ride it & wait & see if any problems developed.

In my trail riding days we'd get our motorcycles submerged up to the seats some days, if they carried on working then fine, if not we used to take the plugs out & four or five of us hang the bike upside down & crank it over a few times. Always carried on fine.

Now that was on a motorbike, sure a Bosch e-bike will be fine. Think the motors are fairly well sealed.

Oh hi,

I too am dirt biker as well. (KTM 300EXC). The difference with our dirt bikes vs ebikes is that dirt bikes have fluid in them, much easier to recognize if there is a seal issue since fluid will be leaking out. Our ebikes are dry, so after a rough day in the forest I was curious how to check if water got in.

Perhaps your right...ride it till it makes noise.

Still curious if anyone has pulled the crank.

Think it unlikely as all the Bosch gen2's will still be under warranty.
