Bosch classic latter's play on chainring

Just cleaning and checking that nothing is coming loose and noticed a slight amount of sideways play on the chainring. It's not the cranks and the spider nut is tight. I seem to remember this being mentioned a while ago suggesting this was OK, but can't find the post.
Sorry about title should have said lateral but phone decided otherwise..

do you have the spanner and a crank puller to remove it all and put it back together to check it?

that dont sound good esp as you just had it back id get the shop to have a look.

sounds like it could be bearings in the motor if the rest is tight.:(

No it's fine, there's a wavy washer in there that gives the wobble, it is designed that way.

Lads, lads, stick to proper technical terms otherwise newbies will not hold us in awe. It's not sideways play on the chain ring. It's Axial end float on the primary drive unit. Wavy washer ? wobble ? No No, it's the Variable compressive end thrust module on the final drive shaft allowing compliance on the transmission assembly.
