Help!
I have a Carbon racer (PlanetX) as well as a nano-converted Brompton. I am 71 yrs old, somewhat overweight (94kg) and with bad knees. I fancy selling the PlanetX and getting an Ebike. I have drawn up a 'short' list (30+) inc the Ribble/Orbea Gain/Volt Infinity/Whyte Clifton, but somehow narrowed it down to two (title).
Boardman: lighter; £500 cheaper; slightly less-good group-set; motor and battery can be removed; limited range (250W battery). Hard to tell from a distance that it's a 'lecce'. (I had a test on the more expensive version-impressive; comfortable)
Canondale: Heavier. Shimano 105/Ultima group-sets. Bosch Active crank motor; much larger battery(500W) and range.
Uses: purely recreational/U3A group rides/cycle paths etc.
I was hoping to put the bike into the back of a VW Golf (max 28in width -so saddle and front wheels would need to be removed).
Any advice?
Many thanks,
Richard ( Sheffield/Derbyshire border - so very hilly!)
