Yes, congratulations due to Cadel Evans for an Australian tour win for the first time ever. After a decade of working towards this and second place in 2009 and 2010 by only seconds, his success now is well deserved. Dare I mention that his BMC bike broke during one climb and had to be replaced, losing him time while the team car caught up to make that exchange. That's why Cadel was behind both the Schleck brothers on Thursday, but fortunately was more than able to make that up on Friday. Only teasing John. loads of bikes of all makes break due to the huge stresses of the Tour, especially this year with one of the toughest courses ever.
It was one of the best Tours ever, and another first in having two brothers on the podium as well, Andy Schleck in second place and brother Frank Schleck third. Thomas Voeckler's performance deserves a mention too for his retaining the yellow jersey for France through six stages. It was the best year for France for a long time with five French riders in the first fifteen including a new rising star in Pierre Rolland getting the white jersey for best young rider.
