Damn it !!, it would seem that i have blown the transistors in the controller on my Bafang BBS02 750w after a good few years of daily use, I have always run it on a 14s turnigy multistar 8ah battery, replaced 2 cells in a battery last year after they started to puff up, but other than that, its been faultless and very powerful.

I have just freshly charged the battery to 58.8v and set off to do the school pickup, got there, collected my daughter on her bike, we stopped by the stream on the way back and it has a gravelley surface so i dropped down to 1st gear to wheelspin away (done it many times before!) and the wheel jolted and there were a few quiet clicks from the motor and that was the end of it, so had to pedal home instead, which isnt that big a deal really, i just enjoy riding my bike as an electric bike.

So, the rear wheel is really stiff to turn backwards, and i've taken the controller off and started to chip the rubbery epoxy coating out, and ordered some new fets part number csd19536kcs from mouser electronics and that as far as i have got so far.

Lets see it i can resurrect it !!, otherwise i fancy the shiney new 1000w mid motor kit that bafang have released !

You can buy the complete controller as a spare part from several suppliers, so there's no need to mess about repairing it. Check all the tracks because there's a fair chance that they're burnt.

I only run my BBS02 on 12S as it gets really hot on 14S.
3000 miles+ of mainly big hills offroad and never missed a beat.
When I did try 14S I could smell the motor getting hot and that was on tarmac and not a very steep hill either!!
I still have a mark on my finger where I touvched the motor case and that was 2 years ago!
The BBSHD runs on 14S and I can keep that at full throttle all day long without any problems.
