Bit of a variation, I bought the bike but need a tawball mounted carrier

Absolutely as green as grass so you can all have fun i you want!
The thing I want is a Tow Ball mounted bike carrier and have no idea what I need to get, my big question is that the bike I have bought is a step through but all of these carriers appear (I may be totally wrong here) to secure the bike by the crossbar, which my bike doesn't have. So what are your recommendations and suggestions.

I haven't looked deeply, but I think these two (for example) hold the bike by the wheels not the crossbar.

Thank you very much for that, there is a Halfords not too far from me so I might just take myself along for a look see. I have plenty of time because the bike won't be here for another four to six weeks (Wisper Wayfarer)

You can buy a false crossbar that clips on to use with carriers.
