Apparently they have some fantastic wheel kits but too powerful for the UK it seems

Very competent direct drive kit but quite overpriced.
You should note that the D350 (I think that's the one fitted into your Smart 250W) given torque is 40NM max, 10NM nominal.
The Bosch Performance and Yamaha motors have twice that and cost about half the BionX price.

And the A to B link is no longer relevant since almost all the makers listed as using them in their BionX listing have dropped them due to unreliability.
