Why did they fit such crappy brakes? I'm sure that they're the same ones on my Cyclotricity Stealth, only mine are black.

Actually the brakes are a very fair point. They are rubbish !

Same goes for the sturmey when nexus should really be the minimum

I do really love that frame set though

Totally agree. I would pickenflick over that other bike all day long.
But then you have vertical drop out

Which. Feels like a bodge with an alfine

This frame has some rather clever dropouts, horizontal or vertical

And full Ti, no carbon forks

Anyway, as it happens I'm in hackney today with work. If I canI'm going to swing past for a proper butcher's

I hear what you're saying, but I'm really not that opposed to an Alfine set up using a tensioner, singulator or whatevs.

Particularly on a disc brake bike where you have to adjust the caliper position every time you pull the wheel back to ensure correct alignment of the pads to disc.

I find it far simpler to loosen, tweek and tighten the little tensioner.

Neatness wise, sure, the horizontal does provide a more aesthetically pleasing look, but everyday ownership, particularly for the less mechanically minded owner, the tensioner makes maintaining good chain tension a breeze.

I'm just sighting up another nuvinci build, n380 this time. They are pretty dreamy combined with a bbs motor ;)
Not cheap though even if you build your own wheels! [emoji51]

Enjoy your quinoa and kale salad lunch as you sip cold brewed coffee out of a mason jar outside some trendy artisan bakery [emoji6]

Do we have to warn your better half to get the kids out of harms way?

The other use of a tensioner on an IGH bike is torque absorber, you can have too much torque!

That made me chuckle! I'll get stung for 8 quid for an artisan craft ale for sure
Well worth the money to be drinking amongst liked minded chums [emoji6]

Interested to hear what she looks like in the flesh if you do drift past.

Didn't get to shop as work overran . But I had to go to 8 business addresses across Shoreditch and hackney

Wow, I've never seen so many hipsters and beards on "quirky" singlespeeds in my life !

And my London Fields brewery ipa when we were finished was a mere 6.50 !!

*Chortle!
Prime hipster territory, both those places, 'ey.
It's entertaining people watching around there.
Did some singlespeed owners appear to be competing with how narrow they could make their handlebars by any chance?
Was the ipa £6.50s worth of tasty?
