Bike park pricing vote.

Should Bike parks charge ebikes more for using them than regular bikes?

  • Yes.

  • No.

  • I would not use a bike park that charged more for ebikers.

  • I feel a bit alienated by unfair pricing.

  • Ebikes causing more damage to Bike parks is a myth.

  • Ebikes cannot do more laps than regular bikes due to battery life.

  • Charging ebike riders more smacks of discrimination. Particularly towards disabled riders.

  • I'm being picked on because I'm perceived as a cheater.

  • It's their park and their choice.

  • Out of principal, I would go elsewhere.

Oh right! They have one of those up on the Rhune, it's free... Built and maintained by the local users. Last time we walked by there was a guy from Brittany who had driven down to try it. It is on "public land", nods as good as a wink to a blind horse... :D

I don't ride an ebike because of my disability, but because of my disability an ebike does allow me to go further and tackle hills I might otherwise avoid. I'm pretty sure I don't ride anywhere near as far as any of the non assisted bike riders around here, but it does level the playing field a bit.

So, from my perspective, if I were to use a bike park, and my means of using that bike park was an ebike, and they wanted to charge me more (than a non-disabled person) for the privilege, then yes, I would feel this was unacceptable and potentially direct discrimination as I'd probably be cycling a shorter distance, and slower than most.
