I'm looking for suggestions for a bike for myself. I'm male just over 6'3", so ~192cm and about 13 1/2 stone (I think, don't have scales)
Close to turning 50, have only ridden a few times recently but stripped and rebuilt a couple of bikes when I was a kid so kind of know my way about a bike, albeit a little rusty.
Previously I've suffered from tendonitis in one of my knees. Not debilitating but long strenuous rides gave me pain so I'm hoping the added power of an ebike will reduce that and help me get a bit more active again.
I've got a budget of up to £1500 for the bike itself, not really any more as already upped that.
It's for pleasure/leisure only, my commute is ~40 miles away in a company car, just thankfully not every day.
Generally cycle routes, canal paths and the odd land rover track etc. Doubt I'll be doing any serious hill climbs, or at least no plans to at the moment.
Having a throttle, even with having to peddle slightly is tempting for my knee's sake.
I've been sort of put off Halfords, due to feedback around inconsistency with support and quality, even though they are just down the road.
Thought about Decathlon as they are nearby as well, but none of their bikes jump out at me and the lack of support from Ebay/Amazon bikes are encouraging me away from there.
From reading on here for a week or so, I'm tempted by the Woosh Camino or Gran Camino (not sure which is best choice).
Wisper were interesting but think they are slightly out of my price range
I'm concerned thought that at 6'3" I'm really at the top end of the size range for the woosh bikes (and possibly most) and may look a bit daft perched upon it with the saddle at full height
So is there any other decent quality or recommended bikes for £1500 for a tall person ? Generally in the Hybrid/touring style, not a step-through as happy with some sort of crossbar.
