Hi,
My son had his battery stolen, so bought a 2nd hand bike, I eventually some months later bought his bike without a battery to 'fix it one day'... a year has passed and I wired in a generic '36v' battery and got a matching plug, all was well and it powered up nicely.

On its first trip out a mile drown the road, assistance stopped so i turned it off and on again, and got a flashing led, the bottom one of the battery gauge, so i thought I had ran out of juice but that didnt seem right from a charged battery....turned it off and pedalled home. charged it, no change... tried a 2nd battery, no change.. I know my generic battery is good, I use these on other ebikes of mine and get 15-20 miles off them easy

The handlebar controller is one of the basic '790' design with battery level leds and 3 leds for low-med-high power assist, when i turn it on, the leds all light up in sequence, then go out in sequence, and then the bottom led for battery level flashes, the mode led (1-2-3) do not flash, the first one illuminates for minimmal assist (as expected from powerup) and i can cycle through low-med-high normally (1-2-3 etc) while the battery light is flashing, after 10 seconds all the leds flash (all 5 battery and 3 power modes) until eventually it turns itself off. rinse and repeat.

I have unplugged the wheel, the brake levers, blown on the connectors (I had a snes) and it wont repair itself...

Does anyone know what the code/error is for a flashing low battery ? I can only find codes via google for the assist leds flashing not the battery leds.

The bike is a bargain model carrera with the most basic led display

Lez.
