BH Evo Cross

Does anyone know if there has ever been a thread about the BH Evo Cross? I'm about to receive one from BH and would like to pull together as much useful information as I can. I've followed a lot of discussions on the forum and feel this is the best place to start, but so far I have drawn a blank on the Evo Cross. If anyone rides one, has owned one in the past or can help in anyway I'd really appreciate your feedback.

I was looking at the BH cross myself and then found a thread online on a different forum regarding the reliability of the BH spokes at the rear wheel braking fairly easily and driving owners nuts. They may have improved them since a couple of years ago but I gave up on BH altogether.

I hope they have made an improvement as the bike looks brilliant!

Oh dear , EPJ had a BH and it spent a lot of time out of use because CS was poor hope things have improved. You can read about his experiences with them by reading the 'off road bike thread' from the beginning.

They must have improved.I have had my Neo cross for almost 3 years with daily use.It still performs like new.Best legal overall hillclimber I have tried.No problems with spokes.ONLY problem I have had is water inside the lcd display.I have had a lot of diffrent ebikes.self build and oem bikes like bosch performance and other chininese bikes with crank and hub motors.The neo cross have been the most reliable by far.You dont need to worry about the quality.And the Dapu hub motor,I belive is the best quality hub motor on the market.Very torqy and never gets hot.

Let me see. A BH motor fails after just 100 miles of use, and takes months to be replaced. A Bosch motor fails, and takes one week to be replaced. That is more than enough of a comparison for me. Out of a year of ownership, I had a miserable six months of use. One piece of advice. Loose your deposit, and walk away. Google " the bh experience" or even start to ask if any dealers on here dropped the brand. I'm sure that if any happen to read this, you might get a response.

Every ebike forum I have been on,possible every ebike forum on the net. I find you spamming with your endless comlpains of your neo cross bike.Someone paying you?
I know many people here in Norway with BH bikes,they are VERY reliable

I'm glad that your bike has proved reliable.

I'm speaking from my own personal 'BH experience' and I'm afraid that if you don't like my comments, then tough!
The UK aftersales, was the worst imaginable, and having to wait for months and months without use of a bike that has cost in the region of 2K is not amusing. The bike even failed within the first mile or so, and had to be pushed back home. Then to have bearing failure within the motor in less than 100 miles of road use, doesn't bode well.
I'd like to think that things have changed here in the UK, but I can't see it. By memory, It wasn't so long ago, that a respected forum member and someone else raised questions to BH about the product whilst visiting their trade stand at a cycle show, and were rudely told to leave.

I love the integrated battery and style of the bikes, but with poor component spec V price and in my case and that others, questionable support, I wouldn't buy or own another. It is a shame though, as the NEO Race is up there in my favourite of bikes to ride.

Many thanks to all of you for the feedback. Your range of experiences, good and bad, has confirmed my feelings about BH bikes.

My wife and I bought Neo Cross bikes back in 2013. Both bikes worked fine for the first 18 months and then one refused to register a fully charged battery. After six months and many trips back and forth to BH with the bike I finally told them I didn’t want it back until is was properly fixed.

Two days after leaving the faulty bike with BH UK they phoned to say the bike was on its way back to Spain. We got the bike back two weeks later, just before the end of the warrantee, it stopped working again soon after that.

I must say at this point that the other Neo Cross is still going strong and it is a joy to ride. It’s had two LCD displays replaced. Up to six months ago both bikes had been used regularly on road and on an equal basis

Finally and to cut a very long story short BH are replacing the bike with a Evo Cross hence my attempt to find out something about the model. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks Eddie. They appear to be having 'software compatibility issues'. They're not been very forthcoming with information, but they did at least try, I just hope its been sorted. I suppose I'm about to find out.
