I know that there has been a lot threads buzzing around this topic, but with a forthcoming holiday to Spain via some rides in the Pyrenees, I would like to record a few movie clips with a Panasonic TZ7 a small light-ish digicam

I have put a Minoura Space Bar on the bars to free up some space, but other than botch up a old light holder/tripod thread support, what are the recommendations for an ebay/amazon product that would support the camera with easy fix/removal??????

this will be the first KTM Race 26 trip to Europe, together with my wifes Garry Fisher/Juicy bike conversion, on the tow bar hitch of a Toyota Prius hybrid....somehow, the car and the bikes seem like a match made in heaven!

I bought something like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hama-00004372-Bike-Clamp-Tripod/dp/B0032KHK1W/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1368276456&sr=8-4&keywords=camera+mount and fitted it to my handlebars with my dogcam bullet camera. The noise it picks up from the motor is horrendous, it must be picking it up through the frame.

The motor isn't noisey but the handel bar mount makes it sound like a huge electric motor. I stuck the camera on my helmet and there's next to no motornoise being picked up although you can hear the twist grip click as I change gears.

I think before I fit it back on the bars I'd need to get some rubber round the bar first to dampen the vibrations through the frame.

It really depends on how much you want to spend. My personal favourite is the high quality FLYMOUNT, very well suited for mounting small compacts. It's of robust construction with all metal parts in stainless steel and comes with a long security lanyard....but it aint cheap. Also, it will need some packing to grip a 25.4 mm handlebar...a couple of turns of inner tube will do.

If I think of any similar, but less expensive I will update the thread

thanks folks...

the Flymount looks the business, but needs a bit too much 'commitment' at this early stage, although your videos show just how good it is blew it

the Hama mount at £12 with a screw fitting to tighten to the bars seems a good starter kit.....I am now wondering if anybody has tried and tested.............??

.....gives a few more bike mounting options, as well as being lightweight, and can record my windsurfing fun and games at the Mar Menor

I have that camera. If you want yo see footage. Search Youtube for "Lap of Redbridge" or look back for the thread on Redbridge where I posted a link. Remember to select 1080p on YouTube otherwise you don't get full quality.

I use a handlebar mount that costs about £3 from Ebay. Search for "bicycle camera mount" and sort by lowest price first. They're black, clamp on the handlebars, and have a tilt-lock. No need to buy anything more expensive.

The yellow camera has its own mount, or you czn use the EBay one for better positioning.

thanks d8ve....

quality is very good in HD, and hopefully it is as waterproof as they claim, but maybe you get only what you pay for?

but as it comes with its own mount, then it must be a better bet than my TZ7 Panasonic
