im looking at buying a new e bike, this one doesn't come into the country until sept, but also its roughly £500 more if brought in the UK . My question is it's a 350w but the law in Italy is the bikes need to be set to 25km, which it is. But I'm worried that it has no plate to say which power it is.?
So is this technically legal.
Can I get away with this on UK roads ?

The pedelec law in both Italy and the UK is basically the same, both now conforming to EU regulations.

Of course 350 watts means it's not an EU legal pedelec, but since it's unplated you can pass it off as being 250 watts.

The law since 6th April 2015 says it does require plating, but there is a period of grace for bikes being sold currently so if you are buying this year, you shouldn't experience any problems.

We have large numbers taking the risk of riding e-bikes with 350 watts and more, and they don't seen to be experiencing problems.

What is it about that bike that appeals to you? The Oxygen MTB is faster, more powerful, has a bigger battery and decent suspension forks and is half the price. It seems to trump it a little bit. You know that Benellis are made in China?
