January 13, 201511 yr Was wondering, when using this kit with the PAS or throttle and in the lowest gear, are there are any issues with traction on the rear wheel? Is the power fed into the system smoothly and progressively?
January 13, 201511 yr traction, smooth, progressive power delivery and very low noise are the strong points of the BBSxx kits. The only negative on those kits is the gear change. You need to think ahead which gear is best so to keep gear change to a minimum. A more powerful motor (500W or750W) lets you keep a gear that suits your cadence on hills, less powerful motors force you to select a lower gear. Edited January 13, 201511 yr by trex
January 13, 201511 yr If mine is typical the throttle is an on/off switch but the power ramps up slowly and gently so it is very unlikely to cause wheel traction issues and makes it gentle on the drive train. My Tonaro on the other hand, since I altered the gearing is quite happy to wheel stand on steep off road stuff as the ramp up is almost instant If traction is an issue just drop the PAS setting down to lower the wattage.
