bad surprise all of a sudden with my ebike today! First some engine noises (or cassette transmission?) And impossible to pedal forward, so the ebike is broken. The rear pedaling works. The accelerator does not. Display works. Well, I'm going home on foot. Is it some clutch or whatever?

I add that when I try to pull the ebike backwards to make it roll, it also hangs!

It's a mid drive

Sounds quite terminal for now and sounds like an internal drive gear/drive may be damaged , firstly though check the motors final drive gear. Remove the crank arm/chain wheel to unscrew the cover and take a look at the main final drive gear and pinion drive, esp check the small pinion drive to see it doesn't move by hand.

Do you think that the nylon gear cover could have been out of its place? Because I didn't use loctite when I replaced it weeks ago...

My nylon final drive cover I have only ever pinched the screws up hand tight no need for lock tight.
Have a look first then take the cover off, if it looks ok then you will have to open the motor up if that is where the issue may lie.

I understand what was wrong…. this pinion HAD a circlip...

and the circlip said good bye!

not faulty me….bad quality for circlip...I wanted to change it but didn't know where to buy one! So...I hoped it will work with this not very straight circlip.
