Has anyone here successfully fitted a BBS01 into this bike? I've seen a large frame used one that Im considering. The bike ticks two boxes for me, 29er with a wide range cassette. Although the top tube is straight Im not sure if there will be enough room for the battery to fit in there. BB is 73mm wide but just described as a square taper sealed bearing so Im not sure if the bottom bracket on this bike is suitable ie with the correct threads. Any comments welcomed.

The std BB thread is known as an English thread and yes BBS & tsdz etc,etc all utilise the English thread. The same thread is adopted by Sram, Shimano & the Octalink BB as well.

Thanks for your reply. After some googling I found that a 2020 Bragg bb is listed as FSA BB-7420 so hopefully this will be compatible.

Yes, that BB is fine, does the bike run a single small chainring? This photo shows a 2020 bike and the chanstays look wider than the BB, which will not allow fitment of the motor. This is a problem with alot of modern bike frames with wide tyres and small single chainwheels. BTW, it has 27.5" wheels. This thread is worth a read for you.

Perfect! Thanks for this I will have a read but the chain stays do look wide. I think for 2021 they must have offered 29" rims because the possible bike of interest is described as almost new and having 29" x 2.23" tyres, it also has a straight top bar just like the current on seen on Halfords website. Oh yes and single chain ring. It could be back to the drawing board for this one. Maybe a 29" hybrid with thinner tyres and chain stays is the way forward.
