As I chained my Wisper 905SE up at work today it occurred to me that the most valuable bit of kit on the bike is the battery, which isn't even secured to the frame.
In fact, since the saddle post has a quick release mechanism, a would be thief wouldn't even need any tools to pinch the battery.
Currently the only "safe" option would be to remove the battery every time I park up, which would be a right pain.
I'd have thought it'd be quite easy to fabricate a metal bar or plate which attaches to the frame and swings/locks into place above the battery, thus making it much more difficult to remove.
Does anyone manufacture such a thing?
Has anyone ever had their battery pinched?
Something for manufacturers to think about perhaps.

Elephants.
