battery pack build

hello all, i,m building my own bike, and wanted advice on 18650 cells. i,ve gained alot of knowledge recently, mechanically i don,t have a problem, its circuits and amps etc i,m learning about. if you buy a batch of cells, are you supposed to check/balance them individually before building the pack? don,t worry i,ve plenty of questions!

If bought from a reputable source they will or should be the same batch and voltage. Voltage wise batches will differ from manufacturer to another, my last cells HG2 were all 3.56v.
