Hi everyone,
I do not post very often.
My swiss flyer has a developed an issue with the battery lock.
The barrel is faulty.
I have tried everything and even asked for help from a locksmith.
The key is the same one used for the frame and I am trying to replace the barrel but I cannot find the part I need online. I have asked my retailer but their shop in Birmingham is now by appointment only and Taunton is there head office .
I want to remove the battery and replace the bracket and the lock.
If I have to have a new key then I will also replace the frame lock. (It is very handy if they are the same key).
The battery works fine and I can recharge it while it remains in the frame . But obviously it would be better if I could remove it and recharge overnight sometimes. Also I would like to be able to use my bike without the battery in the frame (while it is recharging) as it is quite versatile for short journeys. (A bit on the heavy side but still quite usable).
The bike is only 2.5 years old so I am not sure if the warranty is applicable.
I have two pictures (Let us see if they are visible!) so the it should be easy to match the product code to the part I need . But no luck so far. I rang ABUS but the UK office was not much use .
I think their head office is in Germany . To bad we are leaving the EU!
Any thoughts ?

if you can get the barrel out, remove the tumblers so that you can open it with any key or screwdriver. Nobody will know you've done it, so the lock and battery will still be safe.
