A neighbour of mine has quite an old Kalkhoff rear drive. I suspect it'll probably be in the region of ten years old. He replaced it with a Raleigh Motus a year or two ago. The bike was well looked after but he said the battery was starting to give out.
I wouldn't mind taking it or buying it if quite cheap if I felt I could replace the battery. I imagine I wouldn't want to source an actual replacement (pretty sure it was a clunky looking battery on seat tube of frame) but might I be able to buy the likes of a more generic battery in the same voltage that I could fit on the down tube? I see likes of 10ah Hailong batteries about £200. I don't mind doing a bit soldering/running cable.
Any thoughts, just an idea? Thanks
