Battery flashing red/green post accident

Hi, my Wife had an accident, hit a tree branch across a pathway and fell off her pinnacle mercury e-mtb. Wife has recovered, but the battery on the down tube now flashes green / red continuously, unless turned off. Still holds charge and can be used, but assume it’s “in fault “ any ideas ? Did you try removing the battery and re-inserting it?

I’ve just taken it out for a ride ( rides fine) to completely flatten the battery and have put it in charge, battery is lit green, as normal.
I’ve lost the key for the lock that holds the battery, unfortunately.
