Battery connection to base.

I had a few problems when removing the battery. I must bent one of the 5 pins that connect the battery to the base. On a closer inspection I see that only two of the 5 pins are actually connected to wires. So was thinking of removing the ones that are not connected. Anyone know what the 3 small pin connectors do?

If they're not connected to anything, they have no function. The companies that make the battery cases have no idea what bikes they'll be used for or even what will be put inside the case, so they provide extra pins to give the battery-makers and e-bike manufacturers the chance to add communication wires.

Thanks that was what I thought . The people I bought it from sent me a new base but was the wrong one and are sending the correct one.
