Hi, so I opened the battery box on my powabyke euro today, my old batteries work ok but range isn't that great. The batteries fitted are 12v 15ah. My local only do a 12v 12ah and their cheap as chips! But would this different in amps have a great effect on range compared to fitting 15ah

They'd work, but it's difficult to say what the range would be. Do you know whether they're for electric vehicles (mobility scooters etc) because some of the cheaper ones can't give the amount of current that you need?

Could you measure one of the batteries because I'm interested in what lithium replacements would drop in the compartment, so I need the size. Personally, I think a lithium one would be a better option if you can find one that fits, which would cost about £200 for 15aH, and would take you about 40 miles or more and save a lot of weight.

It is a local factors that specialise in just batteries, I said their for electric bike and he said They can't get 15ah, he said that the original 15ah are Chinese origin and they measure amps differently?? And he thought their wont be much difference tbh. They sell batteries for anything cars, trucks, wheelchairs, golf caddy.

Each battery measures 100mm wide 100mm deep and 150mm long. I have been quoted £22 inc vat each battery
