Battery Cells: Branded or Unbranded?

Any experienced users able to offer an opinion on the performance of unbranded vs branded lithium batteries.

User preference aside, is there a noticeable difference in performance?

User Billyboya bought a 25ah 48v 21700 cell pack from AliExp using unbranded china cells, it lasted 8 months before some cell groups failed.

Mail TBK and ask who makes the China cell as there are some reasonably good branded china producers such as , Eve , Sinowatt, BAK & Lishen. One would expect that TBK use a better cell brand.

$40 more for genuine 50E cells isn't much to quibble at and has to be the better option.

There are 20 cells in that battery and they only want $40 more for 50E's?. Only a $2 per cell delta, and that is cheap.

Some other vendors will charge $6/cell for premium cells.

I would expect you couldn't tell by the performance. But if you had 100 of each battery and looked at it 2 years from now when warranty is up, I would expect all of the 50E packs to be still working. Probably see 5 fails out of the no name,.
