I thought it would be good to have a specific thread where we can discuss cell related news , queries, repairs, fault finding and any other related battery issues. That way it could make it easier reading for folks to fault find and possibly repair their own batteries with a bit of confidence.
With some nice pics and explanation from forum members we can make it a ' How to ' information thread as well, to help e bikers with what at time looks like a mine field but generally can be an easy and rewarding task.

First bit of news I have seen recently.
LG have introduced a new cell a 21700, 5000mah 10a rated cell.
This I saw available from Queenbattery in China who sell reliable genuine cells,
http://queenbattery.com.cn/
Too new to find any unbiased reviews but never the less another new cell.

A first step for any one with an e bike is to have a dvm or digital volt meter, these are relatively cheap to buy from ebay or other similar source for as little as a £5.

This one is the better of the two, in the coloured circle is a diode and a speaker marker. This has the buzzer that allows for checking of wire continuity, esp good for finding broken wiring.

This is another I have and a common one found on ebay.
Notice the diode marked doesn't have a speaker next to it so not so good for finding a wire break.
