Has anyone got any views on this 26" wheel folder with a 36V/10Ah battery built into the rear wheel? Not seen another make bike with this feature. Anyone know the pros and cons of this arrangement?

I've not tried one, but the concept, to me, seems daft being an unnecessary complication. I guess it's not a QR wheel and free-wheel gear-set only. When you have a battery on a rack, you have loads of options for replacement/upgrading etc. Its advantages are that it brings the weight lower, but the weight of a 10aH battery is hardly noticeable anyway, and it saves a bit of size for folding.

Wow what an unusual design. I wonder how that handles with all the weight on the back wheel, would the spokes hold up ok? It might balance out well with the motor at the front eh. The bike doesn't look bad either. I think that's a really good price. It's certainly giving a very competitive market with new offerings appearing all the time :)

Weren't these discussed/posted about on the forum before ?

A couple of guys did some videos about them trying to sell them but clearly were less than up to speed technically.

There have been a few e-bikes with back wheel batteries, notably the US Tidal Force e-bikes that were bought out by Matra of France. I agree with d8veh, it's a daft idea which adds unnecessary complication. It also makes battery replacement rather dependent on the supplier remaining in business and maintaining stock. Experience shows this rarely happens with ebay e-bike introductions.
