so my second battery build, 40 sony cells 11.6a. went a lot smother as i didnt use a case. couple of small issues.

my spot welder playing up.
it didnt charge at 1st so after some messing i had another BMS board. put that on and it worked straight away. so faulty cheep board. just waiting for some heat shrink.

charging now and i will add the vaultage when charged.

all finished it weights 2.2 kg and full charged is 41.86v witch seems about right i think

That sounds OK. It may improve a little with a few charge/discharge cycles. Did you get your 1st build to charge in the end?

it did, but need charging and discharging a few time to get the vault age up. i did i bit reading and because i used mixed batterys (some were chaged) it will take a few charges to get the balance right. to be honest i check a few 36v battery's that i have and 41.8 is pretty good. don't think any of my bought batterys read that.
