Hi, Apologies if the info I'm after is already distributed about this wonderful forum but thought I'd ask some specific questions...
I've just bought a 2014 Batribike Granite Pro, with a supposed dead and totally unresponsive battery, or at least one that needs re-celling, however on getting it back, plugging the charger in, the following happened:
First off, it wasn't interested in charging, but when I switched the battery to the on position (on the actual battery), the red charge light on the charger came on. I wasn't sure how safe this is (??) anyhow, I switched it back off but left it connected to the chrager which then showed green. After 20minutes, I decided to put the battery back on the bike, and there was power to the computer! Whats more, I just took it for a 3-4 mile ride!
So I was totally unexpected that it works at all.
So this brings me to several questions...I understand that some of the battery cells might be dead or on the way out, and therefore could it be that the BMS is intermittently allowing voltage in/out?
Whilst riding it, the computer showed 5/5 bars of juice for nearly the whole time, occasionally dropping to 4, yet the battery charge indicator on the actual battery is red (<30%). Whats the craic here?
The power cut out twice while riding it - I repowered and away I went again.
So I'd love some helpful thoughts on whats going on here....I suspect the battery is on its way out ( its done 1400miles but probably been left idle in a state of discharge for some time) and needs investigating, but also its now hapilly charging (red light on charger, battery switch is off this time).
Thanks!
Robin
