Hi, I asked this in an older thread but didn't get a response, so I thought I would try here. I've just bought a DRB Coniston ebike and they look exactly the same as the Basis Beacon bike if that helps. My problem is I have been using an ebike to commute to work for many years but the controller died in the heatwave so rather than fix it I thought I would treat my self to a new ebike but I'm rather underwhelmed as it seems slower than my old bike so my question is does anyone know how to get more speed out of this bike, I read in an old thread I can cut a white wire to speed it up a little bit but if I hold the + and - on the display it has options to set speed limit, tyre size etc so I would go that route if it was possible but it won't let me adjust them! Is there a bypass for this so I can adjust the settings? Or can anyone recommend the best way to increase the speed? I'm reluctant to cut the white wire just yet as the bike is only a day old but the bike is such a drag compared to my old one I'll do it if that's the only way to give it a boost. Thanks for anyone who can help.
