Anybody looking for a sub £1000 bike should get one of these quick before they're gone. Easily de-restricted; great climbing power. What more do you want.
I know nothing about these bikes because, apart from a photograph, I have never seen one. But, £850 for a bike which receives universally favourable reviews from its owners has to be worth considering. Especially for those with a sub £1000 budget.

Definitely a great opportunity, I doubt they'll be on sale long before being sold.

Yes I have always liked the look of those. If I was not into small wheeled bikes or needed a full size bike with a lot more power I would snap one of those up.

As Lynda says I wonder why a kitchen/door handle shop is selling them ?

Regards

Jerry

Yes, undoubtably a bargain...... but is no one else curious as to where they got them from ?

I had thought Powerpedals were the only UK importer .......

That is Tony the guy that is an official demonstrator for Powerpedals in Brighton, just like my brother Dennis is for the North East.

As far as I know there are no current models available normally at that low price which has just made me curious as to what they are and where from.

Stranger and stranger, the Carlisle 'shop' is one of the Andersons group with branches / showrooms in Carlisle, Dumfries, Kilmarnock and Stranrear.

They have set up a web site.. EcoPedalPower

Even stranger because on that site the bikes are offered for sale at the 'correct' price....but quoting a RRP of WAY over 2 grand ......which of course they are not and never have been !!

I mean, hey....Im a great Tonaro fan but even I would jib at over 2 grand for one lol

These e-bikes are marketed under various names around the world, so they might not be too strict about sole distributor rights.

I'd guess that in this case the manufacturer has excess stocks and was prepared to do a special deal to clear a number of them to one largish outlet. Another example was the batch of Technium branded bikes sold at under £1000 from Wiggle which were really the Kalkhoff Agattu models, but way below their prices. Again that was a one off batch, once sold not repeated.

Yes I realise that Flecc but these do seem to be under the actual Tonaro name and I know for a fact that Phil at Powerpedals has......(or had ?) sole UK distributor rights, if they had excess stocks to clear I would have thought they would have offered them to him.

I think its maybe time 'Old_Dave' got himself down to Carlisle from Dumfries and Galloway and found out and put us all out of our 'misery' lol ;)

( nosey ******s arent we lol )

I did think about it..... but lost that thought when I started to think about chain alignment (will make a separate topic about that in a mo).

Having returned to the thought, I'm 100% not going as my credit card can't stand another spanking

Perhaps they did and he couldn't or wouldn't finance the bulk purchase. Don't forget that the margins on e-bikes are large and Phil may be paying very little more than the price this batch was sold for, perhaps making it not worthwhile for him to borrow for the deal. These bulk traders are prepared to operate on tiny margins, for example Sports HQ and the Cyclamatics offered at just over £300 at times, though normal price £599.

I will be staying near Penrith later this week and going up to Dumfries, so I could pop in to Carlisle just out of curiosity and have a chat;)

Carlisle is a great place... The shops even take Scottish money :)
I know Carlisle quite well Dave, I lived and worked there in my youth.

By the way, Cyclezee takes Scottish money too........as well as €,$ etc.;)

There was I looking for some new Oak doors and locks and up popped a range of Turdaros amongst the woodwork! I see the welding has not improved....Did not have a deprived childhood so grew out of pressed tin toys a long time go......"Unique" indeed, but not in a good way:p
