Today, I thought I'd refresh my memory on a few electronic basic skills, such as soldering and component recognition. Not so much recognition, as in what a component is, but more like knowing resistor values from their colour codes etc...

Therefore, I popped into Maplins and bought this:

Hopefully by the end I will have improved some basic skills, which may help any future bike builds.
I do foresee plenty of cussing, head scratching and cups of tea though

I'll post a piccy of the finished product once done, and fess up if it works or not.

Ta daaaa, about an hour and a half of relaxed soldering and I have the finished working product. The only set back was a mixture of me not checking properly, plus dodgy instructions.

At one stage I thought I had a resistor missing from the kit. After a few choice words to myself, I realised that the supposedly missing resistor was actually a potentiometer, but the instructions hadn't made that very clear.

Anyway, it's nowt special and just turns one's voice into a Metal Mickey wannabee lol.
