B + M Lumotec IQ stopped working

I have a Kalkhoff pro connect with a 24v B + M Lumotec IQ headlight. Just did not work yesterday. All connections are good.
My big puzzle is that the voltage going to the light seems to be just a few volts. Back light still works perfectly. 50 quid or so is a lot for a light anyway, so seems a heck of a lot to splash out when I'm not sure if it is the light or the switch. What should the voltage to it be? Seems obvious it should be 24v.

I disagree, I have never had such a good light and the way I am perceived by cars on the open road at night is worth twice that price. I digress...

The voltage from the controller could be anything in the lights accepted range from 6.5 to 24 Volts. The rear light cable comes from the front light? If so it isn't the switch which is at fault.

Hi. Thanks. Doh. Just put a battery on the light and it is fine. So wiring. (I was a bit foggy last night!)
The two wires from the headlight disappear into the headstock. There are two little wires going into the computer on the handlebars outside of the main loom thing. But it seems odd it the wiring would go into the frame, and then join up with the loom, only to go back up to the computer. Also the wires on the light are coded whereas the ones going into the computer are both just black.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Is the on off switch on the LCD? In that case it will be your on/off wire which is normally the same colour.

Is the beam throw good? I've got a new Ixon IQ Speed (193QZ ), I was intending to knock up a small battery pack for it, but it fell down the list of priorities. I was initially drawn on the basis of the reflector in relation to other posts on here (I can't remember the guy from Guildford name who made up his own)

Hi anotherkiwi. Yes, the switch is on the LCD. Where is the on/off wire you are referring to? The wires to the light are black and black/white. They go off into the frame. The wires to the LCD come out of a different opening in the frame in a bundle, and just short of the LCD the outer covering comes to an end, and inside is a bundle of some size, and two black wires.

Hi John. Yes, the beam throw is great. It is a really good light at ordinary speeds. In the pitch black I find it not bright enough for riding fast and use a Cree cheapie from China on the handlebars. But is such a boon always having them there, and not nickable, or at least not in the ordinary way clip on quality lights like cateyes are.

OK I thought you were saying a black wire went from the light to the lcd and came back out again. That might have been the on/off switch wire.

Looks like you need a multimeter and lots of luck and patience or both.

Or you could just rewire direct to the battery and use the on/off switch on the light.

I only have the battery version and 40 lux and have no problem at +50 km/h. It lights the road and not the tops of the trees and it doesn't blind oncoming cars.

I will upgrade to the 80 lux e-bike version later in the year.
