Updates on more power?

So are there any up dates on this a year later as of October 2012? Europe should align with the USA in allowing 20 mph and up to 750watts. However that would use more battery power so probably 350 watts is more suitable. As with a lot of legislation, legislators know bu££er all about the subject from the warm comfort of their Jags and BMWs.

Of course legislators don't know every subject they legislate on, it's unreasonable to expect them to. They take specialist advice in each subject to reach a decision, and the problem in this case is that the majority bodies are against the change with only one body for it, the one that profits, so far from able to give a completely unbiased view.

In the circumstances the legislator's position is entirely understandable, albeit annoying to those of us strongly associated with e-biking.
