Thanks James and Tim!

The members of BEBA put a massive amount of work, in their own time, on every electric bikers behalf to arrange the day to try and get the Government involved and behind us.

To get twenty electric bikes parked in Black Rod's Yard and an invitation to all MP's Lords and Gov't departments to come and try was no mean feat. We were given the opportunity to make a presentation to MP's and heads of departments in one of the main committee rooms for two hours. The NHS, DfT, and many others were there all excited about what electric bikes could do for the UK.

We talked about increasing the cycle to work allowance to £1500 to include ebikes, the provision of bike lanes in rural areas, the e bike and health, the possibility of keeping the throttle etc etc.

Not a bad day at all!

Thanks to everyone who organised this event, it was a great opportunity to promote electric bikes and was pleasingly non-biased towards any particular manufacturer. The speakers proved to be interesting and informative and hopefully the government representatives who came along went away full of enthusiasm.

I think the hard work of all those who have been getting BEBA together is starting to pay dividends and we will really see some things happening at legislative levels.

Even the weather was good

Cheers,
John

Yes, too true.
We all appreciate the hard work done by everyone concerned and hope to see benefits for the industry and us all in due course
I am looking forward to hearing more about the responses from the gov. representatives and what you think/hope will come from the day.

BEBA Handshake revealed...

It was a great day, and an excellent chance to discuss electric bikes with some very knowledgeable and influential people.
I especially enjoyed riding along a road that runs right through the length of the Palace of Westminster - very cool!
Here's a picture of our Matt, wearing my favourite tie!
Eventually Matt developed the new, secret, BEBA handshake...
