Are there any good inexpensive truing stands?

Electric Bike axles don't fit in regular wheel truing stands. Try this one at about £1.50:

I made my own out of timber in the form of the metal type in pic one.
A easier option is to use the bikes drops outs with the bike in situ by using a simple cable tie as the rim truer.

I bought the PDF on Wheel Building by Roger Musson (currently £9.00 here) in which he has drawings on making a wheel truing stand from simply found materials.

I made one from his design about 6 years ago and have successfully built/trued many bike wheels.

It's not a luxury truing stand by any means but given that I only use it a few times a year it is more than adequate.

I've used a cable tie, but it was hard to see the small gap between it and the rim. Maybe I should place some white paper behind it.

Lifeline also do this cheaper but flimsier looking version for up to 135mm axles, but I have my doubts as to how long this will last without warping. Would take up less space, but yours looks sturdier.

The LifeLine Pro Mechanic Truing Stand does look very good indeed for the money. One of the reviewers on Chainreaction complained that his flimsy lightweight "Home Mechanic" version warped in the sun.
