are KT controllers best

are KT controllers the best option to go for. im new to ebikes my dad has used them for a number of years but i have not had much to do with them looking at parts there seem to be a really good selection of bits for KT system i have seen ebike kits mainly looked at rear hub motor kits an some have other make controllers are these compatable in the same way the KT controllers are i have been looking for a kit for my brother talked him out of 4k finance in favour of by a kit see how you go hes not very hands on so i will assemble it for him im thinking stick with kt stuff but dont want to rule out other good kits that dont say kt but may have really good motors (to me a good motor is durable an rebuildable )

For after market contorllers KT are the most available brand and they certainly have a go tthe market sorted. if they went OEM only the diy market would be in trouble.
Lishui is another brand but do tend to be mostly OEM, sometimes a controller and display option turn up on aliexpress or one can get one or two models on bmsbattery.
Ebay is home of the cheapy stuff usually brainpower brand.

Sabvoton and kelly are other branded dearer makes.

One also has to understand the difference between speed control and current control, the latter being far more user friendly.
