i am interested in an ezee cadence, i know these are discontinued, and wondered if all ezee bikes use the same standard battery type, also it has a nimh battery, are ezee nimh long lasting, i believe they do not have a refresh facility. this bike has apparentlly hardly been used in two years, but has been kept charged, is this likely to have ruined the battery. any opinions on this bike would be welcome, seems strange that they have stopped supplying them so soon, anybody know why.

Hi Fishingpaul,

The Ezee batteries are all interchangeable between models and the NiMh types are interchangeable with the Lithiums, although the Lithium charger is different.

If used with reasonable care the Ezee NiMh types certainly seem to last as well as any other. You are correct in thinking that the charger does not have a refresh facility so it necessary to run the battery down on the bike periodically to maximise life. A 2 year old NiMh battery that has has had little use should be in reasonable condition as long as it has been charged regularly, say every 3-4 months.

I would guess the reason for the discontinuation of the Cadence was simply down to numbers sold, it is very similar to the best selling Sprint which sold at a slightly lower price. Virtually all of the components are the same as the Sprint which has many hundreds of satisfied customers.

Paul, speak to them if you want a new one. If they have a shipment order being placed in China they might be able to source you a new bike. I originally ordered an ex-demo one, but it got damaged in the warehouse and they got me a new one over.

Love mine, BTW...
