September 20, 20214 yr Has anyone recently tried a diy Arduino based PAS system. There was a post in Pedelecs somewhere about this but I am having trouble locating it again. Can anyone help? Peter

September 21, 20214 yr Author ??? https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/how-to-add-a-throttle-to-a-carrera-vengeance-e-spec.31483/ Thank you for the link, Guerney. I'll take a long look at the code to see whether I can adapt it for my requirement. As it happens it wasn't the post I had previously seen which I found again (and it wasn't in the pedelecs forum:(). I don't think I should directly post the link but if anyone is particularly interested it is headed "Simple PAS to throttle converter using an Arduino Nano". The problem I have is the DIY friction-drive kit I am experimenting with doesn't have PAS on the simple controller. I would like my conversion to be as road legal as possible so the aim is add a simple cadence based PAS. Thanks again for the additional information. Peter

September 21, 20214 yr It's already been done here: https://www.avdweb.nl/solar-bike/electronics/pedelec-legalisation-device

Yes that is a really interesting website (eg the solar powered ebike!). I got the impression that his PAS solution was quite complex - programming the atmel controller chip (viz the Arduino db) looked simpler - I'm waiting for a disc and sensor from China to provide the pulses.
