That looks like yet another one with the Panasonic motor unit. Also fitted with it are the Biketech Flyer, the Gazelle Easy Rider and now it seems this one, plus the discontinued Giant Twist series.

The Swiss Flyer and other exotics are handled by Vita Electric in the UK.

Anybody got any clues what that thing attached to the rear of the chainguard might be (on the Helkama bike that is)? Oh, and check out the bizarre e-trike on their site too.

I saw that but not a clue! It seems as though it might have a cable coming from it arcing back up in the carrier direction, but difficult to follow.

An electric cycle pump?

Of course, you've got it Miles. Shimano have got a Nexus 8 speed auto now I think, that could be it on that bike.

Hi flecc,

I looked at a photo of the 8 speed auto, and the "cpu unit" for that was of different proportions, so it looks like it is the Inter3 Auto.

Thanks Miles, so much for their claims for that bike, being miserly on the gears!
