I have a 1000w Voilamart DD wheel which was controlled by a voilamart controller and an SW900 display, this did the job (sort of) but was not very good on Pedal assist. I also have a similar but 1500w voilamart which I converted to run on an Ebike Sensored Brushless Motor Controller 48V 1000/1500W 12-FET 30A KT Sine Wave with a KT-LCD3 LCD Display Meter Panel for KT Series Controllers 24/36/48V , this works very well so decided to change the 1000w Voilamart to the same system, however, it refuses to run and keeps giving me an Error Code_3 perhaps soneone here might know the answer?
I have also discovered that the LT-LCD3 has an "L" menu?? does anybody know what this is for?
And finally does anybody know what the P1 setting should be?
Any help will be gratefully received.

KT error code 3 is hall sensor issue so double check connection/wiring also make sure the hub wire connector is fully pushed home or use L3/1, see reason below.
Maybe a hall is damaged in the hub so will need to be tested with a meter.
Use the search pages of the forum for hall sensor testing threads.

P1 46 for the D/D hubs.

L1 is lvc so 0 is default auto setting otherwise 1,2 & 3 are 20, 30 & 40v respectively.
L2 is linked to P1 setting so leave it at L2/0 for the correct calculated value.
If one had a hub with a very high gear ratio then P1 might go off the scale so L2/1 would halve the calculation so a P1 value can be used, for instance if one calculated P1 as 300 one would set P1/150 and L2/1.
L3 is for sensored or sensor less use. L3 1 is default for optimised system/sensored running . L3/0 activates non hall mode should hall/s fail.
L4 is LCD shut down timer, 5 = 5 mins, 6 = mins etc etc.

Thanks for the information Nealh. I have only changed the controller and LCD screen, the motor was running fine before this, I'm not finding any wiring faults but the motor attempts to take power momentarily (up to about 100w) and then stutters and a 03 error code appears. Would changing the controller cause the "Halls" to fail?

All you can do is test halls for switching without opening the hub.
Controllers although new one can't rule out a manufacturing fault.
Retry the hub on original controller if no issue then either controller fault or possibly a sync fault, C2 has seven other sync modes whether one of them might work who knows ? Otherwise there are a 36 other possible manual combo's of phase/hall sync to try.
As above in my previous reply try L3/0 with C2/0 setting and see if the hub runs sensor less.

Before doing anything, you should reset the LCD display to factory default by setting custom parameter C10 to 'Y'.

Then, confirm that the motor hall connector is fully seated and that the individual terminals are properly mated and have not backed out of the connector housing.

Next, carry out the following testing procedure (provided by the excellent Grin Technologies) for identifying a defective motor hall sensor:

https://www.ebikes.ca/documents/HallSensorTestingFinal.pdf

Let us know the results of the above test.

I had suspected that you'd purchased the controller and LCD display from myself from your description of them. I've just identified you from your purchase a moment ago, thank you. Let me (us) know if you need any assistance with the hall sensor replacement procedure.
