TRA recommends e-bike anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures cease
The long awaited preliminary decision of the Trade Remedies Authority about the UK's e-bikes anti dumping measures has just been released, as attached.
They say:
" We intend recommending that the anti-dumping amount is revoked from 19 January 2024"
(and there's an identical statement for the anti-subsidy element)
In other words, unless there are further submissions within 21 days which change their mind, or a political intervention from the Secrertary of State, the measures will be terminated, back-dated to 19th January (so any amounts paid after that will be refunded).
There are still few more stages before this is completely finalised, per the latest case timeline (also attached). A final recommendation is due in September 2024, after which the (new) Secretary of State at DBT will make the final decision and implement the change.
