just seen another new ebike in grimsby this time its a step in the right direction for me if not the right bike.
the new izip with twin batteries mounted on the sides of the back rack, the power packs may not be in the best place for balance but it looked a very smart power storage system.
an elderly fairly heavy gentleman was unhappy that he only got 8-10miles out of one battery i ask him how much he pedalled, his reply was i don't,i leave you to come to your own conclusions as to its merit at that range with one battery and no pedalling.
i repeat, to me the battery packs looked very smart.
as you can imagine a complaining customer in the shop was getting most of the attention and that only left the work experience lad to serve so i couldn't find much out about the system.

I think thats good news mike it seems to be a popular misconception that you dont need to pedel on electric bikes i would hate to just put bum on seat and twist the throttle i need a little exercise:D

I'm surprised at how heavy it is on that first link.

Like the Powacycle Windsor, it's alloy framed, step-through, sprung forks.

The Powacycle is 22 kilos, this Izip 32 kilos! 10 kilos is a big jump in weight for a similar spec, even if a bit more powerful.

Yes, that twin setup is neat Mike, and with Giant doing that as well, we'll probably see more of them from other makes, using NiMh or lithium variants.
