Just signing in to say Hello to everyone, I live in South West London and have a long suffering Girlfiend who has two ancient Powabyke Euros c2004 and 2005.
I have maintained them over the years, diligently regreasing the gearboxes every 12 months and fitting new damper plates and rubbers to the damper pinion.
Mechanically they have been resonably good, the worst problems having been a failed gear in the motor assembly, this was before I found out about the regreasing regime and a spun axle in the "Micky Mouse" anchor plate.
Fortunately I was able to remedy all mechanical problems, however the electrics for me have been a bit more of a problem, so far I have soldered the power connections directly to the circuit board as both burnt out the original connectors, an obvious weak point.
The throttle failed on the earlier bike as a result of corrosion, I have replaced 4 sets of batteries in total.
I do however have a problem with the later bike which I simply do not know the answer to, but I'll save that for another post in the correct section.

Best regards to one and all and a big thank you to Birdie bikes in Hampton for all the help over the years.

Steve.
