Can I use this variable dc power supply to charge anything from a 8.4v or 36v and 48v li-ion or bulk charge any size rc-lipo battery all by adjusting it's volts as required, and if needed could I also use it as a regular power supply for say a laptop or something by changing the volts to as required again? Kind of a multi use powersupply.

I have the 3A version and use it for charging and testing cells. I can't see a problem with it for charging any lithium batteries providing that you set the current and voltge properly.

I also use mine for trickle charging the car battery.

I would love to have a 1 charger charges all solution.

My issue is that I would need a 10 A output if I wanted to charge my 10000 mAh Lipos at 1C, you could probably get by if you use 5.2 Ah packs. I did a full charge from empty on Saturday and it took about 1:48, with my previous 6 A charger that would have been more like 4 hours.

That's interesting, I need a car charger, what would I set the volts/amps on to charge my car battery?
Also would I be able to use it to power a Turnigy Reaktor 300w 20A balance charger at full power? With these power specs-
Input voltage: 11~28V DC
Charge current: 0.1~20A
Discharge current: 0.1~20A
Maximum charge capacity: 300W

I use a pair of Meanwell NES 350-48 power supplies to charge my batteries and have just ordered another pair to make charging shorter and simpler.
One pair(in parallel) are used turned up ful to charge my 14S2P Multistars (32Ah) to 91% capacity.
If I need 100% then I have a 3A 58.8\v charger to top it up.
The second pair will be set at 49.2V to charge my 12S2P (32Ah) to 90%.
I use the 12S going away from home which tends to be more downhill and the 14S on the way back which usually has big hills .
I have wattmeters connected to keep an eye on charging levels and always check cell balance before and after a charge.

How to carry 64Ah of batteries.

To charge your car battery, set it to 14.4v andthe current to whatever you want. 4 amps is about what most car chargers do, but if you want to trickle charge, something like 0.2 amps.

You could use it to power your Reaktor as long as you set the charge current on your Reaktor low enough - say 3 amps.

D8veh, I am now thinking of getting a 3a version set at 50v to bulk charge 12s lipo occasionally, does your 3a version have a fan (I prefer fanless silent)? I saw a pic of the 5a version has a fan vent at the back.
Can it handle 3a constant @50v for about the 3hours I think it would take or is that a short time peak?
