Of course I coudn't resist buying two, they're lights. I'll try them out later - they're dual sided LEDs with transparent mounts. These look likely to survive longer than 5 minutes in the rain.

They're supposed to make patterns like this (as depicted on the box packaging).

When my missus asks about my 3 front lights, 3 rear lights, helmet light, flashing ankle bands, I say you can't have too many lights.

Looking forward to seeing the light show video of these in action guerney !!

For me when I was commuting to work the addition of a bright flashing rear light made an immediate difference to the way cars approached and overtook me. I was already wearing a high viz cycle jacket and had panniers with reflective sections, but the re chargeable flashing light definitely made a big difference.

Aldi's product photograher managed to snap photos - video frame rate, ISO, shutter speed, and wheel rotation speed required to capture distinct patterns, are uknown as yet.

These spoke lights could increase visibility at night approaching intersections - in my experience, by the time spoke reflectors are lit up by headlights, it's too late. Mind you, I haven't experienced drivers slamming on their brakes after lunging towards me at an intersection since I added two 1800LM headlights to the handlebar (one of which points slightly left). Another 1800LM headlight has been made red for the rear rack, which flashes horribly and brightly. The top left small white headlight pointing backwards lights up my hi-viz blouson, because you can't be too visible...

If they are programmable, can you get them to display text as they spin?

1800LM rear facing light? Isn't that verging on dazzling?

The fastening threads are a bit fragile.

I wish they were programmable - I could advertise GuerneySiderating™ llumimakers™

As the actress said to the bishop "Better to be looked over than overlooked". I'm hoping that my 1800LM rear flashing light might distract drivers from their texting. The rear 1800LM makes an area of tarmac behind the bike red. They're not as dazzling as car headlights. I point them all at the road. So far, the rozzers have ignored me.
