Agattu frame size

Hi Folks,
I picked up Simon's comments below

Are the frame sizes measured from the top of the tube (without the seat post) to the middle of the crank? I only ask because current bike measures 49cm there and always feels a bit high, though I'm not short at 5' 11'' but that's a ''small frame'' on the Kalkhoff.

As a 30" inside leg short a**** Scottish type, and awaiting the imminent arrival of the legendary Agattu ( where the devil is she??), I am now deeply concerned that my feet won't touch the ground (literally, as opposed to swept up on the wave of euphoric praise she has received since her arrival on the scene.) . Should I be concerned, and if so, recognising that there are quite a few of us vertically challenged on this forum:D , should we contact 50 cycles and double check frame sizes against height?

the suspension seat tube adds overall height though this can be replaced of course. i reckon at an equally short inside leg of 29.5 (yes the.5 is important:) ) i would go for the 49cm size with the suspension post and the 53cm side without. if i really wanted to be sure of feet on ground the 49cm would seem the best bet.

the usual advice for this sort of thing is to try it. not easy outwith loughborough. 50 cycles did mention a network of suppliers though in the future.

I would like to know the geometry of the two Kalkhoff bikes, head angle top tube length etc..
It's difficult to see the differences when the Pro Connect description has a picture of the crossbar version and the Agattu page shows the step through version.

It's unlikely that this information would be easily available on an electric assist bike Martin, more the province of sport cycling high end these days.

I'd bet most e-bike suppliers would be baffled by the question, but once 50 cycles receive a Pro-Connect and the crossbar Agattu, worth checking with them as they have a couple of knowledgeable cycle men who might assess it for you.

One problem with e-bikes very often is that the battery at the rear of the seatpost means somewhat odd frame proportions and angles.

mmm that makes sense, i've ordered one. I'm 6'' (really 5'11 but i round up) and the chap at 50 cycles said get the small. 49cm would make it the smallest bike i'd ever owned and that seemed a bit suspect, but he assured me its a 'big bike'.

I know other city bikes i've been on have seemed enormous and i thought it must be a combination of the stem, handlebars, saddle and cranks that add the size.

I'll post back when it turns up (end of jan they said)
