Hi guys

Been looking at these and simular speck with the bosch motor.
Can anyone give me any advise on what motor to go for please. I hear the yamaha is a reliable unit. I do both road and off road but mainly off road so though this would suit my needs.

From the e-bike shop. Trying to copy and paste but it's not having it. Sorry

Haibike sDuro AllMtn RC 2015 electric bike
Many thanks

The Haibike is really the only full suss MTB e-bike.
KudosDave

Leaving countless other superb makes of full suspension aside, I'd really hate to think that I have spent the last year riding around in conditions that most will never encounter on a bike which isn't a real FS mtb. Also from your statement, it sounds as though I totally chose the wrong bike to take to the Swiss Alps to use for proper mountain bike use. I must have been lucky.
Clearly you are very knowledgeable on the subject, but as I enjoy a good laugh as much as the next person, go on then, explain how you have arrived at what I and probably many others would consider to be a very wrong and blatantly misleading conclusion.

Ash, there is nothing wrong with Haibikes, but equally there are many other full suspension mtb bikes available to choose from, so don't limit your options. Whilst I love the look and apparent solid build quality of the Yamaha motor, along with the fact that it uses a sensible size front sprocket, note that Bosch are just launching new motor and battery size. Before spending any money, I'd suggest trying both versions. If you are ever down this way, Bedgebury forest loan out Haibikes with the Yamaha motor, and you would be more than welcome to try my 'non real fs mtb' a KTM Macina Lycan as well.

Enjoy which ever bike that you settle upon, FS e-mtb's are great fun to ride, and open up a whole new world and riding experience.

If you have already done it, take a look through this thread. http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/how-many-people-are-using-there-e-bike-off-road.15780/page-37#post-271142

Rob, there were plenty of Trek fs mtb's out in Switzerland.A fact that was probably helped by having two local dealers, but they certainly looked very good spec and finish. If BMC ever decide to make one, I would suspect the balance would swing.

Also, if you can wait... it might be worth giving it a few weeks, as all the brands are about to launch their 2016 models.

We have a lot more full sus MTB options in the line up this year. It'll be 8-10 models this season.

You can view our full 2016 range here....

This is the one I'm most looking forward to riding:

KTM Macina Kapoho Plus.

I saw a couple of Treks in a bike shop in York.

Looked well, as you say, but then so do the KTMs and the Cubes, so it's a hard choice.

Or an easy one - all quality bikes so you wouldn't go far wrong with any of them.

Stromer is a BMC brand.

The ST1 is a hub drive roadster, but I suppose they could extend the range at some point.

Hi Ash, I have the Haibike sduro allmtn rc and ride mainly off road.. I am absolutely delighted with it and if you bought one I don't think you could be disapointed. However it is good advise to try out the alternatives before spending £3000+.
The main points which swayed me over the competition were
. The way it looks
. Yamaha motor
. 20 gears
. Value for money

When you get on it for your first ride you will be smiling from ear to ear. It's worth getting a tuning dongle long boring straight tracks suddenly become very interesting at speed and you can cruise along on the roads at an easy 20mph in eco mode. Hope you like it as much as I like mine.

Shhhhh I won't sleep tonight. Lol.
I've got one of those on the way to. ;-)
Hoping to figure out a way of haveing it switched on and offable on the handlebars rather than have it hanging low. How have you got yours set up?
