Hi to everyone and nice to meet you,I'm yari from Milan an pasionate of alternative transportation

This is my first post,i'm thinking about pedelec bike solution to go work.
i already own a folding bike but sometimes it is pretty bulky to get in busses and public transportations.
So I'm thinking about an alternative, considering that in Italy i can only circulate without insurance and register with ebikes till 250W of power and assistant pedaling as 25 km/h,can you suggest me some models?

Thanks to everyone for the listen and some contingent answers

Welcome Yari or should I say Ciao!!!
Depends on your criteria;
  • What is your budget.
  • How is your fitness and how heavy or tall are you.
  • How far do want to travel.
  • Is the terrain flat or hilly.
  • Do you think yo will use it for recreational use as well as transport.
  • Style of bike you are after, MTB, Roadbike, hybrid or folding also there are step through's.
Just to get the ball rolling.

Hello Yari,
At 70kg any bike would suit you esp as the terrian is flat and 11km isn't to far distance wise or you could try and convert your existing folder with a light weight legal 250w kit, in your case a 9ah battery should be more than adquate however if you decide you to go exploring further a field than a bigger battery would be better say up to 12/13 ah.

This is a spanish company using Chinese Mxus products branded with their name and do a front conversion for 83mm wide fork drop outs and at a 3rd of the 1500 euro price you have mentioned.

The bikes in Italy will have different brand names to what we have in UK. Or to say it another way, you can't buy the bikes that we have in Italy. There must be an Italian electric bike forum. You should ask there.

Your requirements mean that nearly every bike is suitable for you. It's only heavy people, guys that have a lot of hills to climb or guys that want to go for long rides that need to choose more carefully.

Have a look at your Italian Ebay. If you find one that you like the look of, post a link here, and then we can comment on it.

Yari you could try contacting the ebike sellers that advertise on here to see if and how much it cost to send a bike to Italy.
The only problem or the down side is:
  1. You can not try them out.
  2. If they go wrong not easy to return and would be costly.
Where ever you by your e bike nearly all the componets will be Chinese
or far east products so will generally all be compatiable.
